The national level entrance examination JEE Main has rescheduled to be conducted on July 18 to 23. Whereas, for JEE Advanced has been scheduled to 23 August 2020. Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday i.e, May 05 while interacting with the students over a webinar.

Registration for JEE Mains has already taken place in February 2020.

JEE Main is a central entrance examination conducted for taking admission to the B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Des courses. This exam generally takes place in 2 sessions, January and in April.

Most of the institutes in India take admission to the B.Tech admission on the basis of rank secured in JEE Main and Advance. The top institutes like IIT take admission through these examinations.

JEE Main Eligibility 

NTA has determined few eligibility norms according to which a student can apply accordingly.
  • Positively, there is no age bar for applying to JEE Mains.
  • Students can attempt to clear the examination thrice and attempt in both the january and april session will be counted as one.
  • Appearing candidates should have passed the higher secondary examination in either 2018 or 2019 or 2020 itself.
  • The subject combination should be Physics and Maths will be the compulsory subjects along with optional subjects like Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.

JEE Main Application Form
  • Visit the website and fill the application form along with the application fee. 
  • The aspiring B.Tech student should apply for JEE Main Register through the asked personal and academic information Scan and upload the required documents along with passport sized photographs and Pay the application fee through online methods such as credit/debit/UPI or through Demand Draft. 
  • Submit the form after rechecking the information

JEE Main Admit Card

The admit card for JEE Mains might be uploaded after 17th May and for downloading the admit card students just need to follow a few steps. Following steps should be visit the official website website (nta.jeemain.nic.in. )
  • Tap on the link JEE Main Admit Card 2020 
  • Click on the link 
  • Fill the credentials received while filling the form 
  • The admit card will appear on the screen 
  • Take a coloured print out of the admit card

JEE Main Documents Required in Exam Centre

Students appearing for the examination will be alloted the examination centre and thus students should have to bring their admit card along with one of the following documents:
  • Pan Card
  • Driving Licence 
  • Voter ID 
  • Adhar Card 
  • Ration Card 
  • 12th examination admit card 
  • Passbook 
  • Passport

JEE Mains Expected Qualifying Cutoff 2020


NTA comes up with the JEE Main cutoff through uploading it on the official website. Here is a difference between the qualifying cutoff and the admission cutoff. Admission cut off is the common cutoff calculated by adding JEE Main and Advanced marks. Whereas, the qualifying marks is the merit list of the qualified candidates who are eligible for JEE Advanced.

FAQ

Ques. How many percentiles are needed in JEE Mains 2020 for SC category?

Ans. The qualifying marks for the students belonging to the SC category might be 53-56 in this session. The expected marks are based on the merit list uploaded in the january session.

Ques. What is the fee for applying to JEE Mains?

Ans.  The application fee for single subject paper is INR 650/-. For SC/ST/PWD/Girls/Transgender, the fee is INR 325/-. Students applying for two subjects have to pay INR 1300/-. Whereas for C/ST/PWD/Girls/Transgender, the fee is INR 650/-.
